The Circuit
The Saint Goueno Circuit
It is unusual to call a hillclimb course a circuit but at Saint Goueno it is exactly what we have.
Cars are called to leave the paddock in groups and join the pre-grill, then they are taken in convoy down to the start line.
Then from the Start to Finish they drive the 3.2km timed section at 30 second intervals.
After crossing the finish you then continue to make your way back to the paddock without stopping, which forms the 8 km circuit loop.
Spectator access is very good, the favourite vantage point being the Fer à Cheval hairpin however most of the course is now accessible on foot.
The most spectacular vantage point is the crossroads and the esses in the middle section of the hill.
– Start line to finish line: 3.2 km
– Finish line to paddock: 1.3 km
